A group of ZX members flew over to Pa Hua Temple at Ubon Ratchathani to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Pagoda and the Kathina Day.

The monks and volunteers were busy preparing for the event to be held tomorrow and the day after ...

ZX members and other Malaysian visited and walked around the temple, some for the first time.

There is a morning session inside the Grand Hall of the new Pagoda with the Abbot of the temple, Ajahn Gong and translated by Saddha Yongjun.

LP Suphat, Ajahn Gong’s Sifu also graced the occasion by installing 2 Ruby (Donated by Thai) at the forehead of 2 Buddha Images inside the Pagoda.

After the morning session in the temple, ZX group & others embarked on a few hundred kilometer trip to visit temples, paying respect to senior monks as well as enjoying the scenery.., 😄

Led by Saddha Yongjun, ZX group and others visited a huge temple complex :Wat Pha Nam Thip Thep. Decorated with lots of gold, the middle temple pagoda stood tall and surrounded by decorated walled building. Sandwiched in between were the European formal garden with fountain.

Thereafter, the group were brought to another temple to pay respect to the 90+ year old senior monk: LP Boome. He lived in a very unique floating water kuti in the middle of the lake.

It is the Kathina Eve at Pa Hua Temple, Ubon Rachatani, Thailand and also the auspicious day to celebrate the opening of the Chedi (Pagoda).

The senior monk conducted the ceremony inside the pagoda, while other monks sat outside surrounding the chedi; follows by Lay People who is offering the robes to the sangha sat at outer tier. Chanting and blessing were conducted while the Lay People offered the robes and accepted by the monks.

The ZX group were fortunate to meet and pay respect to Chao Khun Petch after the ceremony. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😄

It’s Kathina Day at Wat Pa Hua Don, Ubon Rachatani, Thailand. The ZX group arrived at the temple around 5:45am, (some stayed in the temple)

The lay people lined up around the Chedi while the Pindapat were performed. There were few hundreds monk including the senior monk LP Seng present to grace the occasion.

Religious ceremony were held while the lay people do the offering.

There were also many food stalls set up with lots of delicious authentic Thai food. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😄

After the Kathina event, some of the ZX group went to visit the Forest Monatery of the late Ajahn Chah.

Arrival were greeted with formal entrance with lots of beautiful Sunflowers. Right in front is the Museum of Ajahn Chah.

The Chedi of the late Ajahn Chah is a distance away to the right side of the monastery compound.

The Chedi is gold in colours and appeared “futuristic” .... The interiors generally filled with gold and black colours giving a Mystical impression. The relic is placed in the middle of the hall.
