❤️八十八佛洪名寶懺，是佛教界知名的重要懺法，共分作上下兩段。靠著持誦八十八位如來的名號，作為懺悔。通常多誦改編的簡版《八十八佛大懺悔文》，省去了藥王藥上菩薩咒語，及經文部分。 

❤️上為普光佛、普明佛等「五十三佛」，《觀藥王藥上二菩薩經》說：「若有善男子善女人及餘一切眾生。得聞是五十三佛名者。是人於百千萬億阿僧祇劫不墮惡道。若復有人能稱是五十三佛名者。生生之處常得值遇十方諸佛。若復有人能至心敬禮五十三佛者。除滅四重五逆及謗方等皆悉清淨。以是諸佛本誓願故。於念念中即得除滅如上諸罪。」 

❤️下為釋迦牟尼佛等「三十五佛」，《大寶積經》說：「若諸菩薩成就五無間罪，犯波羅夷、或犯僧殘戒、犯塔、犯僧。及犯餘罪。菩薩應當於三十五佛前晝夜獨處殷重懺悔。」 

❤️Repentance before eighty-eight Buddhas is a well-known and important method of repentance in the Buddhist community. It is divided into upper and lower chapters, reciting the names of the eighty-eight Tathagata as repenting.  Normally recite the adapted simplified version of "Eighty-eight Buddhas' Great Repentance", omitting the mantra of the Bhaisajya-raja Bodhisattva & the Bhaisajya-samudgata Bodhisattva and the sutra. 

❤️The foregoing are the "Fifty-three Buddhas" such as PuGuang Buddha and PuMing Buddha. "The Sutra on the contemplation of the two Bhaisajya-raja Bodhisattva & Bhaisajya-samudgata Bodhisattvas" says: "If there are good men, good women, and all other sentient beings, those who can hear the names of the fifty-three Buddhas  This is a person who will not fall and reborn into the evil realm for hundreds of trillions of asankhya kalpas. If there are people who are able to recite the names of the fifty three Buddhas, they will always meet the Buddhas from the ten directions. If there are people who can sincerely pay respect to the fifty-three Buddhas, he will eliminate the four grave prohibitions, five rebellious acts and slanderous parties, all of which will becomes cleanse. Because of the original vow of all the Buddhas, you can eliminate the above-mentioned wrongs in your thoughts." 

❤️The next chapter are the "Thirty-five Buddhas" such as Buddha Sakyamuni. The "Maharatnakuta Sutra" says: "If all Bodhisattvas accomplish the five uninterrupted wrongdoings , they will commit Parajika, or the monk's broken precepts (Sanghavasesa), offend the tower,  offend the monk and offend the remaining wrongdoings. Bodhisattvas should be alone day and night and repent profoundly before the thirty five Buddhas.
