🟠 "Ullambana Festival" is one of the traditional Buddhist holidays celebrated on the 15th day of the lunar seventh month. Originating from a story taught by Buddha, this day is dedicated to commemorating deceased loved ones and wishing for their liberation from the cycle of suffering and rebirth, attaining peace and enlightenment. Buddhists observe this day by practicing fasting, offering alms to monks, burning incense and candles to honor and remember the departed.

🟡 "Buddha's Joyful Day," is similarly celebrated on the 15th day of the lunar seventh month. Legend has it that Buddha experienced great joy upon achieving enlightenment, making this day a celebration of his happiness. Buddhists engage in acts of generosity and virtuous deeds to accumulate merit and blessings on this occasion.

🟣 "Chinese Ghost Month"  or "Seventh and a Half Month," is a traditional ancestral worship festival observed by the Chinese community around the same time, generally in the lunar seventh month. It is believed that during this period, spirits from the netherworld return to the human realm. People perform various rituals and offerings to appease these spirits, hoping to avert misfortune and disasters.

🟢 These three festivals all center around the 15th day of the lunar seventh month and share themes of commemorating the departed, making offerings, and performing good deeds. Despite originating from different cultural and religious backgrounds, they share common elements and express reverence for deceased loved ones, as well as the pursuit of virtue and merit. Through these festivals, people pay homage to traditions while seeking inner peace and tranquility.
