Special meeting on the organisation of Selangor State Wesak Day Celebration

2023年3月11日，由菩提园的联合组织主席拿督洪祖丰以及Samadhi Vihara的Sis Pai Ling共同召开了一次特别会议，讨论雪兰莪州卫塞节庆祝活动。这个特别庆祝活动定于2023年5月6日在菩提园和Samadhi Vihara举行，由雪兰莪州政府主办並由州EXCO YB 拿督鄧章欽领导。

当天的主题是“Hati Suci, Maju Selangor”，强调了培养内在纯洁和道德正直对雪兰莪州的进步和繁荣至关重要。约有20个来自雪兰莪州的佛教团体和协会参加了会议，包括明吉法师和Sing Kan法师。

当天的预定节目包括正式开幕式、展览、视频演示、集市食品摊位、捐血、音乐会等等。展览将展示佛教文化的各个方面，包括艺术、音乐和文学。

视频演示将提供卫塞节的历史和意义概述，而集市食品摊位将提供各类美食。捐血活动旨在促进社区中的布施和利他精神。音乐会将以促进和平、同情和道德价值为重点，呈现佛教音乐和艺术演出。

On March 11, 2023, a special meeting was called by joint organizing chairman Dato Ang Choo Hong of Bodhi Park, joined by Sis Pai Ling of Samadhi Vihara, to discuss the Selangor state Wesak day celebration. This special celebration is scheduled to take place on May 6, 2023, at Bodhi Park and Samadhi Vihara and is organized by Selangor, led by state EXCO YB Dato Teng Chang Khim.

The theme of the day is “Hati Suci, Maju Selangor,” emphasizing the importance of cultivating inner purity and moral integrity for the progress and prosperity of Selangor state. About 20 Buddhist associations and societies from Selangor attended the meeting, including Venerable Ming Ji and Venerable Sing Kan.

The proposed programme for the day comprises of an official opening ceremony, exhibition, video presentation, bazaar food stalls, blood donation, concert, and more.

The exhibition will showcase various aspects of Buddhist culture, including art, music, and literature. The video presentation will provide an overview of the history and significance of Wesak day, while the bazaar food stalls will offer variety of local cuisine. The blood donation activity is organized to promote the spirit of generosity and altruism in the community. The concert, featuring Buddhist hyms and presentation, will focus on promoting peace, compassion, and moral values.

President Bro. Heng and Secretary Sis. Chai Chin represented【 Zheng Xin Buddhist Association 】also present at the meeting. Overall, the meeting provided a valuable platform for the Buddhist community to showcase their respective uniqueness and the upcoming celebration promises to promote understanding and awareness of Buddhist teachings while fostering unity and harmony in Selangor state.
